The Ford Ranger comes with plenty of power under its hood, which helps it enjoy strong capabilities. At its best, it can tow up to 7,500 pounds. It also has a maximum payload capacity of 1,860 pounds. Plus, it offers various performance packages you can get to enhance its off-roading capacities.

Configurations and Trim Levels

There's also a variety of ways to build and configure your new Ranger to match your lifestyle. There are two cabin configurations offered: the SuperCab that fits four passengers and the SuperCrew that can seat five.

There are also three separate trim levels that offer various technology features and design options. The base trim level is the XL, which comes with safety features like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Trailer Sway Control, and a Rear View Camera.

The XLT is equipped with the dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control system as well as the SYNC® 3 infotainment system that features smartphone integration. In the LARIAT trim level, you'll have the luxury of leather seating, which also features power adjustments for the front seats.

More Safety Technology

There are also other safety systems you can get that lets your Ranger assist you while driving. If you're looking to change lanes, the available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) will let you know if there are any vehicles approaching. This features Trailer Coverage, too, so it can account for the size of the trailer you're towing when making sure there's enough room for you to merge.

Another helpful system is the available Adaptive Cruise Control. With this feature, you can set a cruising speed and also a following distance you'd like to maintain from the car ahead. Then, the Ranger will automatically keep you a safe distance from the car you're following while also maintaining your desired speed when it's clear.
